Forum Books
A slow-ish morning, but our plan was to be packed and away by 11am. My cold has materialised and I am not quite firing on all cylinders. As it was we left later than this as BB was unable to organise himself. We headed down the A68 to rendezvous with TT’s sister and family in Corbridge for lunch. We were a little late, due to the traffic (and BB). They had grabbed a table in a local hostelry – the biggest table imaginable. It would have sat around fifteen people, but we were only six! We ordered and were told it would be about a forty minute wait for food, but in reality it was only about twenty minutes – so we were delighted. BB was the only one who managed a pudding. We had a wander around the village and spent a considerable amount of time in the wonderful bookshop. We of course came out with a bag of books.
We then continued on our way down the A68, with an extra passenger (Uncle J). He had left his car at grandma’s and we were taking him down to retrieve it. The second part of our drive was bleak. It’s a bleak part of the country anyway, but it was getting dark and was foggy on the higher ground. We were pleased to make it to Grandma’s.
I immediately headed out to stretch my legs, while they all had tea and Christmas cake. Later grandma prepared more food for us. We were staying in a local Premier Inn, so eventually headed off there to check in.
This is the bookshop in Corbridge.
