CANTERBURY - LAST DAY OF 2019

We are ALWAYS in Canterbury !
Took No. 1 Son with us today - surprisingly he had never been....it was very grey and dismal today....until we walked past this cafe which enticed us in for food with it's amazing amount of tinsel and foil decorations and retro coloured lights. The walls were covered,the ceiling was covered......it hurt your eyes trying to take it all in !! My mums house used to have this style ( though not the amount) of tinselitis......we have all got a bit more tasteful and stylish...but you know what.....it was Fab......the food was good too.
Dont like New Year.......dont like being "FORCED" to party. We are only going a few houses down to our new neighbours but our "old" friend Mart will be there.....he and his partner have moved to the same road from "that" London......he was our best man at our wedding 30 years ago....and it's great having him around again....we all do have a giggle.
Anyway....I have had a "disco nap" in preparation for staying up beyond midnight....it is a new decade after all ! I will force myself to be jolly.....and then tomorrow- all festivity will be over and I can spend January cocooned and being miserable along with the rest of the country.
