Last one of the decade

Decided that the lurgy was conquered so headed out for a final trundle of the year, emboldened by the fact there was zero wind and the sun was shining. Nothing big or clever but 24 miles at a stately pace felt fine.

Ruby is seeing out the decade at a beach party, Joe is it another party in Haddy. Me, Mrs S and Eve were due to head to the cinema but Eve is feeling too poorly so it’s a sofa and movie night, with added pizza. Suits me.

Good Riddance, But Now What?
By Ogden Nash

Come, children, gather round my knee;
Something is about to be.
Tonight’s December thirty-first,
Something is about to burst.
The clock is crouching, dark and small,
Like a time bomb in the hall.
Hark! It’s midnight, children dear.
Duck! Here comes another year.
