Oh dear

Looked out of the back window this morning and took this photo.
There have been foxes around our garden for years,but living in a small suburban street it worries me. Neighbours have visiting children or elderly cats,is it safe to have a fox roaming around ?
I wouldn't want to harm it though,so I hope it enjoyed its time in the pale winter sunlight.
