Go-Slow

I still don't have a small mirror, hence the photo of my bun....

What a strange time zone that we are existing in- the many days between Christmas and New Year. I feel much more rested than before the holidays. I worked out there were 15 school weeks (16 if you count the ones with the Inset days back in September), and apart from the obligatory week at half-term, I've only had one day off.

I took a picture of myself on the last day of school, and oh my goodness, the dark circles under my eyes! We've had tears, tantrums, nativities, assemblies, Christmas parties, parents evenings, training days, endlessly dull staff meetings, Christmas crafting, Christmas dinners, Christmas fayre... I could go on and on! Is it any wonder I'm shattered! I know the children were too, but I hope they had a fun first term at school and that it bodes well for the rest of the year.

Throwing into the mix the increasingly stressful college, my own therapy sessions and the struggles with getting this wretched book published, and I'm just done!

I like school, and I like the routine, but it has been nice to get off the hamster wheel and decompress. I quite like getting ten hours of sleep a night!

I'm hoping to make the most of it, I'm not in a hurry to rush back.....
