Backblip: Any blip is better than no Blip?

I appear not to have phtographed anything interesting this day. It was a travelling day. We scrapped plans to stay for a week in Zambujeira and headed off to Vila nova de Milfontes. I paused to take a few snaps of the site in readiness for reviewing it on our Two Snails blog.

I chose this photo because it exemplifies our reason (silly though it is) for leaving. I said that this place felt like The Village. It was all wrong for us. Here is one of the toilet blocks: they paint the Ladies pink and the Gents in blue.  All a bit cutesy.

Now, I thought it was probably just us but when we arrived at Milfontes we found another couple of Brits who remarked on what a lovely site it is here. They had apparently just left Zambujeira... because the site didn't suit them; "it was far too twee".

I think that we may get on :-)

The day was overall a bit fraught even though the journey was a short one. We stopped at a supermarket and found it rammed. On a Sunday? Didn't expect that. Horrible experience all round so we did a rather chaotic shop and  left without really knowing what we had or hadn't purchased. Important bases were covered and we have the fizz with which to celebrate our anniversary, plus smoked salmon to nibble on with our celebratory noggin.

The roads between Zambujeira and Milfontes are atrocious.
