The Great Western....

....Wolverhampton.

My old man and myself got out on the mountain bikes today and ended up in the centre of Wolverhampton on the canal network.

We popped to see how the fancy new railway station is coming along and it's seems there is quite a lot left still to be done.

This part of Wolverhampton has some great contrast of old and new, strangely the modern buildings co-exist nicely with the several hundred year old ones.

This is the old side of the station and the pub the other end of the cobbled tunnel is the Great Western Inn. The old Great Western railway station is also still standing and makes a lovely business and conference centre now.

Great to be out getting some exercise even if it was rather wet and muddy under tires.
