Santiago by bus

What a day. We arrived early morning and were able to check into our hotel. Then a trip on the hop on hop off bus tour. After a couple of hours on the bus we thought the traffic was bad. We had to get off for an urgent comfort break and a quick visit to a small market then faced with lots of armed soldiers surrounding the subway. Another hour on the bus and then we tried to get an Uber but an hour later we finally arrived at our hotel, just in time for pisco sours. They went down very well. We learned later that riots were due to subway fare hikes and the police were stopping demonstrations.
