Up in the hills

We managed to rent a car - much more expensive than we had really intended, for a little Fiat 500.  But "it's only money".  This week is, of course, a popular holiday week in The Canary Isles, so many of the rental firms were fully booked.  Others were demanding €550 for 6 days rental.  So we were relieved to get a Europcar rental for "only" £325.  Next week will be 1/3 the price!

Having picked up the car, a manual transmission, I then made W drive up into the hills, up a very bendy road.  We stopped for coffee at a little cafe, where they only had green tea - W's least favourite - and then again at a little craft centre to buy some tat.

We came back to our little apartment to plan the next few days, then walked down to a basic local cafe for dinner - a passable paella.  

I think some exercise is on the cards for tomorrow.
