Murmuration

This afternoon we went out to the firing range on Salisbury Plain.  They don't fire at Christmas and so we were able to walk onto the firing area.

We went to see the starling murmuration and we were rewarded with thousands of birds all wheeling together in the sky.  There were more still arriving as we left.

It's not something we've seen before, and it was certainly an impressive display.  More in the extras.
