SUNSET
Another good day with Mum today plus Hubby too. We decided to skip up the M6 and go to Houghton Hall Garden Centre today for a coffee and a browse.
Christmas stuff is now on sale and dwindling but to be quite honest I just cannot bring myself to buy or eve look at them now. I love them but after Boxing Day that's it I don't want to buy any more until next Christmas!
Still we enjoyed the browse as there are other things there too and a look at what they have for gardens. They also have an aquarium and some rabbits and gerbils.
It brightened up briefly and was a very pleasant day.
After this we drove back down St John's-in-the-Vale and then down the Lakes again, we only drove North yesterday, so did the reverse today. We tried calling into The Lodge In The Vale Coffee Shop, but after we managed to park up (which wasn't easy), we went in, everything was open but there wasn't anyone around at all, we shouted but no-one there. Signs that the Chamber Maid had abandoned work but still no answer. I suspect Reception, Coffee Shop and Chamber Maid is just one person. We heard someone else complain that they had gone in and asked for a soup or a panini, both of which was on the very limited menu, but "we haven't go any in"" was the reply. Aah well move on, shan't try that again.
Instead we called into the Traveller's Rest just outside Grasmere for a sandwich and a drink. It was very busy, very prettily dressed out. Food was OK but not amazing, still it was only a sandwich so that was fine.
It took a while to get home as the traffic through Ambleside was very very busy.
We arrived in Grange and saw the sun setting. Went onto the Prom by The Station but missed the sun itself but got the above shot, so not too bad.
I've now had a sunrise, a golden pond and a sunset so back to normal stuff tomorrow methinks. Must look up what Mono Monday is about.
Anyway thank you so much for dropping by, for your lovely comments, stars and hearts for yesterday's blips. Take care, stay safe and see you all tomorrow.
