Yanchep
Our local Yanchep National Park has been reopened to the public after the December fires that Yanchep suffered a couple of weeks ago, already there are signs of green tops peeping through he charred remains of some shrubs, there is still a huge area the fires didn't touch, it was nice to see the red flowering gum trees with bees buzzing around collecting the pollen, a few blue fairy wrens were quite visible as their trees were quite scorched but still they survived and were no worse for ware, also plenty of kangaroos laying in their now shorter scrub land, the Koalas are back safe in their enclosure too, hanging onto the trunks of the eucalyptus not a care in the world as long as they have a few leaves to munch on daily, all in all a lot of the park was saved, but quite eerie driving through the park entrance, on both sides of the road it was just burnt and blackened bush, it will all come back though in time..
