Polished off

Tom called the emergency doctors in again today for his mum, Jean now 89.It was an advanced practitioner who came out and decided that we are now dealing with severe heart failure, asthma exacerbated by a chest infection and 2 areas of wound infection. A barrage of medicines has been prescribed and the seriousness nature of this illness was very clearly spelled out. Toms 2 brothers and sister will all be there tonight. We've been told the next 24 hours is crucial, she may or may not improve.....
I was very impressed with the thoroughness of this medic.
I helped sort out some documentation for meds to ensure she gets it at the right time, I've also written out a plan of care (it's a bit rusty but it's just for guidance, in the hope that things get done and others not repeated). I've left them to it they can call if they need me.
I'm now home finishing off the Advocaat and watching Alice through the looking glass.
