Toots in Solitude

Inverness

Donald and I tore out of the house this morning to get to the bus station, not realising the busses were on holiday times, but we made it with a little time to spare.
We then sat back and enjoyed the four or so hour journey north. Snow has been melting since my last trip there and once we arrived in Inverness the rain had ceased and sun was filtering through the clouded skies.
Anjey was her usual slightly muddled but ever positive self and we enjoyed some laughing together. I tidied up the ramshackle piles of books that are strewn all over the place and she was delighted to receive yet another freshly bought book of verse we found in Waterstones.
I gave the homeless lad on the street all the bottles of Irn Bru and Tunnocks biscuits that Donald and I had received on the Gold bus and then it was time to do the return journey home.

I must say that Donald was showing incredible restraint at not being grumpy considering that some very interfering woman had taken his mobile (about which she knows nothing, it being that Hawaii thing which she'd advised him against buying in the first place) and set him an alarm to waken at some ungodly hour this morning because he needs an inordinate amount of time for his ablutions. Said interfering lady went to her room quite unaware that the alarm, for some reason of it's own, went off every hour through the night!!!!
The first hour being just after 1am when zombie-like Donald heard it go off, stumbled out of his bed, went straight to the shower and on return to get dressed, saw the very early hour. Say no more!

The photo is from an album that Lexie had made for Aunty Anjey.
