Woodland Floor

In a brief period of calm before the storm, I took a short stroll through the woods at a local nature reserve.  The mild damp conditions meant that the woodland floor was still full of life with fungi, mosses and litchen nestling among autumn leaves.  I even found some evidence of the previous life of this area a sand quarry (extra).

The storm arrived shortly later when my niece and her 5 girls (aged 3 to 16) descended on Mum's flat for the annual exchange of Christmas pressies and family catch-up.
