Mahonia

 Evergreen shrub to 3m tall with leaves up to 45cm long comprising up to 19 spiny, blue-green leaflets. Upright racemes of lemon-yellow flowers begin to spread as the small flowers start to open and may be followed by clusters of blue-purple berries.
This one was found outside "The Beacon", beautiful, but a bit prickly.
