Canaletto

I quite like these quiet days after Christmas. Strange how there are very few people about. I suppose some are shopping and some are out walking, although the weather here is pretty dull and damp for getting out. I wonder whether some are inside reading books or doing jigsaws. 

Another book I got (self-selected!) - I have been fascinated by Holy Island ever since, many years ago, we spent a week on the 'island' and soaked up its magic. I have returned many times since and learnt a lot about its history. 

Isn't it amazing how one can see one corner of a jigsaw and recognise immediately who painted the original picture.
