Long awaited rotting tree

A new addition to the garden, a rotting tree trunk, which we hope will attract nuthatches and possibly a treecreeper. (It was collected and dug in under cover of darkness, don't ask any questions...) We last had a feature like this in a garden over 40 years ago.
Dec 27th morning - a coal tit was very busy examining what was under the moss, a good sign. Now I need to put a few dollops of lard and seed in the holes amongst the bark.
