An unhappy bird

Rich and I went for a walk along the Water of Leith at lunchtime. We came across a Heron sitting on a pipe over the water looking very unhappy; I do not think he was impressed with the muddy water below him. Just up the river work on the flood defence was going on, this work consisted of a digger in the river, we had no idea what it was doing but it was making the river very muddy.

They seem to be a bit further on with the work, I am sure the householders must be pleased that the threat of flood will soon be gone.
