Bright sunshine . . .
. . . makes such a difference! Today was definitely the calm after the storm. Sandy was clear and the waves were down a little and not in such a frenzy, altho it was still onshore and winds southerly. Rain overnite, but not this morning. This was looking straight out, just as yesterday's was. The beach was even more scalloped and a definite high 'wall' contained the waves over half its length. Saw one guy using this wall as a backrest lounge, just watching the waves. Also watched another guy walk out and suddenly lurch then rise again, which explains the trough in the sandy bottom which created those sideways froths, still happening today. Three guys were resorting to digging at the water's edge looking for valuables - and looking like children playing in the shorebreak. One guy had a metal detector, but he parked it on the sand when he saw one of his friends displaying a chain he'd found just by sifting thru the sand, by hand.
To all, Happy Boxing Day!
