Christmas Day
After our celebrations yesterday we took it easy today. We spent the morning watching, actually more listening to, a old Sting concert from Durham Cathedral, while we opened a few presents. We had our fire going too, and the 4 advent candles burning, so all-in-all it was a warm and cosy time.
One of the presents from Jan to me was an ancient jigsaw. There were only 100 pieces but we had no picture to work from and some of the pieces were only touching, rather than interlinked. Not an easy puzzle but we managed.
Then it was time for a walk. The light was starting to go as we set off so it was long exposure times until about half-way through the walk when we gave up with photos, until right at the end when we had a "Narnia" moment!
That was mostly a problem, but with this picture, and the "Narnia" extra, it was an advantage because the lights showed more strongly than they would have otherwise.
Home in the dark we settled down to watch the last two episodes of "His Dark Materials". What an excellent production! I enjoyed the film but it is much better as a TV series, with time for more details and both plot and character development.
And now we are off to watch another film!
