Sun arise

We continue to take photographs because things in the world out there appeal to us. I resist trying to generalise about the nature of that appeal and of what might constitute 'beauty'. As well as being intimately personal, some would argue that such concepts are part of a collective consciousness and that the idea of beauty is inate.

Sometimes you can root around all day to find something worthwhile to photograph; sometimes you can be struck by inexplicable inspiration; sometimes you can work an image to make it more appealing.

Other times the beauty's just there and all you need to do is just point and click.

This morning's sky as I look over the rooftops south-west towards the Lammermuirs.
