"The Mills"

And the Journey continues as one of my subscribers finishes off his posts with. Many thanks for all your comments yesterday, much appreciated.
Paisley is famous worldwide for its thread mills and I have blipped this building before but from the other side. It is an amazing building with lots of history. It is one of two remaining buildings that once was a part of Coats Anchor Mills. I worked here in the late sixties but most of the buildings have since been demolished and the area is now a Business Park. This was the Domestic Finishing Mill at Anchor Mills, Paisley, built in 1886, and is of red brick with a sandstone balustrade. It occupies an area of 36,000 square feet and was one of the earliest buildings in Paisley to have electric light.
Work in the domestic finishing mill finished in the 1980s, and the mill lay empty and neglected for twenty years until a regeneration project saved this landmark building. It now contains businesses and private apartments.
