Asleep for Winter

I quite like the garden like this and tend leave it alone till Spring. The tree is a Weeping Silver Birch about 160 yrs old??? - nearing the end of its life. In Summer its branches and leaves form a circular curtain in which you can sit in dappled sunlight - like a leafy room. We have a red squirrel that makes it part of a regular run through the tree and down to the pond nearby - quick access to safety up those trailing branches.
