At the heart of MediaCityUK, on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal in Salford, are the new BBC studios. Departments including BBC Sport, BBC Children's, Radio 5 Live and BBC1's Breakfast programme have all been relocated from London. The BBC's Manchester city centre operations have also moved including Dragon's Den, File on 4, Radcliffe and Maconie, Songs of Praise, Question of Sport, and local and regional services as their Oxford Road base has recently been bulldozed for a new development project.
