The candy store is a popular destination on our wharf. As I stood with my nose to the glass watching this fascinating operation, groups of tourists would stop to look as well, and I found myself trying to explain chocolate covered bacon to non-English-speaking people. Yes, people eat this. No, not me. Well, yes, I've tasted it. It's nasty. Cold bacon fat dipped in chocolate. Oh, the faces those people made. We had some good laughs in several languages. I think I could have stood there for hours, interpreting our quaint customs. Really, they should have given me a sample tray and an apron.
