Dawn, day 3

The Blip was taken just before 6am.

That's Ernest - one of the cooks - doing the morning rounds. Hot tea or coffee first, then a bowl of hot water to wash with. Breakfast after that, then back on the trail.

The white stuff you can see on the ground and tents is frost & ice. Just a few miles south of the Equator.

Day 3 was not a long hike. All morning and a couple of hours after lunch, but going from over 11,000 ft to over 14,000 ft. Very hard work.

When we got to camp 3 at Mawenzi Tarn we dropped our kit, then went up a bit higher than the camp and back down again - acclimatising to the thin air.
