I got sent this photo by a pal who was out walking his dog past my old building (number 20) in my old Marchmont neighbourhood, the neighbourhood where I lived when I first moved to Edinburgh back in 1994. And, indeed, the pal in question also lived in my old flat at number 20 for 6 months when I was away traveling in 2000, so there's a bit of shared history there as well. The slightly strange thing that I haven't quite fathomed is why my pal was there on a random Sunday afternoon in December when he lives down near Ocean Terminal, and has done for years. His dog seemed to take quite a shine to the place though.
