Godley Head

Enjoyed a walk around this beautiful and aptly named headland, stunning bit of coastline and the colour of the sea was breathtaking. It began at Taylor’s mistake, I was hoping for an interesting story behind this but it seems to just be that some ship’s captain got a bit confused as to where they had beached in1853. Perhaps due to being under the influence of a certain alcohol beloved by seamen.
There is the most delicious smell floating around the hostel at the moment as someone is bravely attempting to make a seriously proper chocolate cake for Christmas Day. I, on the other hand, have about 10 mins after the shop opens and before my bus leaves tomorrow morning to find something that will conjure up a vague feeling of the festive season.
Heading to Queenstown and the mountains for Christmas so just getting packed up and trying to squeeze my new purchases from the charity shop in. Turns out it’s pretty cold here and one long sleeved top and one jumper didn’t seem quite sufficient. Unfortunately I only have bikinis and vest tops to ditch and as they are not the most voluminous items it’s going to be tight.
