The photograph says it all

We had lunch with my former teaching partner( when we were 24 and 22 , 46 years ago when we first taught together) and her husband today. They are cherished friends and were in need of a lift. M's older sister and brother both have health issues and it's a very trying time for them. We had great conversations, mostly skirting health care issues and you know who in that white building in D.C. We love being together and have to do it more often. One of their daughters sang at our wedding, their whole family is very special to us.

When we finished lunch we steeled ourselves to pick up a few things at Derby Street, local shops packed with last minute shoppers.We managed and made our way home to our little Merry everything, who was waiting not so patiently for her supper.

This day came in warmer than yesterday, with no wind.
