Sport?

Shooters were out on the Cooriedog walk.  At one point they were traversing the hill towards our path so we took avoiding action and kept our distance.  As they were moving across, one bird broke cover and moved up into the air.  One shooter took aim, I saw smoke coming from his gun and heard the shot very shortly afterwards.  He fired twice and the bird plummetted to the ground.  The shooter then gave out a triumphant shout.  No doubt his shot represented significant skill and he felt a sense of achievement.  But a bird was dead.
They left some of their debris lying aorund.
