Soggy Solstice

Set out to the Abbey House grounds to walk Fletch where he would stay relatively clean  and be allowed off lead. As we arrived at the car park the heavens opened and it was torrential... so we sat in the car listening to the radio.. Fletch wasnt too keen on our rendition of 'All I want for Christmas' but joined in with some well timed barking. Just as well the windows were closed.!

It finally eased off to a drizzle and we got out for our walk .. Needless to say it stopped just as we got back to the car. The sky looked quite blue as the sun began to set.

Solstice.. and finally the shortest day which means gradually there will be less dark afternoons.

A quick trip to Tesco metro for a few bits of food.. then back home for a spot of reading of back copies of Cumbria life, which my friend passes on to me. Lots of adverts but a few interesting articles.

Apparently we have now had 147 days when its rained at least part of the day if not continuously.  If only some of our share could go to Australia.. its heartbreaking to see the devastation caused by the fires.
My thoughts are with all those affected.
