A hidden gem.

A walk out this morning at Battram Wood, between Ellistown and Bagworth, a hidden gem in the National Forest. It was planted 20 or so years ago.

It's a lovely place to walk and, as usual, there was hardly anyone there. In an hour and half walking we saw four people. I bet anywhere on the Charnwood Forest would have been rammed this morning by comparison.

I went there with my pal Renee, and her dog Fred, as a pre-Christmas natter and catch up before she and her husband drive off to Holland tomorrow to spend Christmas with her folks. You can see Renee and Fred in the extra, well you can just about see Fred as he's a very tiny, but very lovely, whippet.
