Winter Solstice

It's been a lovely day, a bit of a breeze, and sunny all day long.  A fine clear evening.

My Saturday on in the museum, and my last day working this year.  It's been a steady day of visitors, and a few last minute shoppers.  Popped along friend Julie for tea, and then maybe try a pint later.

The winter solstice has arrived, the short days will disappear, and the light nights will return.  Usually the shortest day of the year is fairly dark and dull, even gales blowing, but not this year.  It's been a lovely day, and all that sunshine made it feel slightly longer.  Sunrise was just after 9am, and sunset was about 3pm.  I nipped home at lunchtime, and the light was great.  I liked it peering through the fence and onto the wall.  Taken at New Street, Scalloway.
