Going Down to the Sea
Decided pretty much on the spur of the moment to go away for the weekend, Mike is worn out, feels like we've been full on for a long while...
For ages, been wanting to tell our friend, Brunilde, in Grândola (where we almost bought a property) that we'd settled on Mourão, but never seemed to work out. Really good to see her again, and her food (extra of table) was as good as we remembered. Then drove out to the nearest beach, and walked along as the sun set... the waves were huge, but you could tell from the line of debris that they'd been a lot bigger in the storm on Thursday.
Gratefuls:
- our kids all together in Sutton, having a Christmas meal as I write (none of them have Christmas off)
- the heart-stopping beauty we've driven through today, sunshine breaking through misty clouds onto lines of hills, or slanting through pine forests; even a rainbow
- being able to come away like this, just wonderful!
PS Take 1.54 minutes to listen to the Von Trapp great grandkids singing Edelweiss, it's peace giving.
