Capital adventures

Another day, another Mall

After a swim (once the water had heated up a bit), a 'hello' to the ex pat neighbours I meet in the pool and a late breakfast it was off to the city to meet up with #2 son.

An interesting drive in with a chatty Chinese Mycar driver who'd been in Edinburgh twice in the winter, loves mulled wine and thinks Brexit is mad, as do is other Brit passengers. He laughed at my description of our current PM. It was an entertaining ride to Bukit Bintang.

Met #2 son at another huge Mall, Pavilion in KLCC. It is full of high end designer chops and blaring Christmas music.  There was also a Star Wars theme but we missed the light show.

Following a long Italian lunch, eating interspersed with a lot of chat, we headed off to do some shopping, mainly presents for the girls. They don't really need anything so it was great to find on the 6th floor Tokyo Street with a lot of not so high end Japanese and Korean shops/booths.
That and a Daiso trawl satisfied the shopping urge, although I still have a couple of things to get.

I wanted to walk across to Suria and the KLCC park but it was after 4 so the rain was chucking it down.  No point in trying to get a Grab/Mycar, Friday afternoon, raining and stationary traffic so it was off to the KTM station.  The last bit of the journey is the cashless MRT Shuttle bus so we got harangued by the driver for the RM1 (18.5p) fare.  #2 son had been overcharged by RM1 the previous day so reckons he is now quits.

Once home we were serenaded by Olivia and Amelia singing along to the Frozen 2 soundtrack, 'Into the Unknown' being belted out with gusto. It was a takeaway, Poke bowl, for dinner.

I baled as the girls were going to bed.  E-cards to send and some finances to update.

I think there is some resolution on the Christmas Day plans but underlying tensions remain.  Families!
