Dropped into the local fire brigade with Barb, to pick their brains.
Let's just say there's no good news.

There are fires only a few kms away and the air quality is the worst it's been.
We're saved by the fact that there've been no strong winds.
 
Saturday is looking bad. All bets are off, and I'll put a box of stuff in the car and head for Sydney.
