Shining in the Darkness
Our star lit up as I was coming back from collecting the car from Reguengos, where it has been being serviced since Monday; both drive shafts needed replacing, so a hefty bill.
And then, when I rang Mike to ask him to turn the outside lights on for the photo, he told me not to try to drive up our hill, but to go round. Doing a U-turn in the pitch dark, caught the front bib on a ditch, which broke off in two bits, not that I realised, so we then had to go out in the rain and wind to look for them.
Incredible winds, it's Storm Elsa apparently, causing chaos around Portugal, and a couple of deaths already, from falling trees. Howling round our house, so glad to be snug inside with our log fire, and not have to go out; we decided to cancel the Bible studies until the new year.
Gratefuls:
- kind Cecílio driving me to Reguengos, there is no public transport as the schools have broken up
- Mike persevering with laying the floor in spite of struggling with the rain and wind
- seeing Allegra dressed up as Mary in her Nativity play, what a cutie
