A Puff With The Angels, London

Another dark, drisly day today. I went out at lunchtime and it was dark as pitch (therefore the high ISO) and just as depressing, hence maybe the funereal tone. Still trying to get over the cold, so just feeling a bit washed out and knackered. Have been told I need to work Christmas Eve (well half of it as our building closes at 1 p.m.) due to Impressionist paintings arriving late from Geneva (boo!), so that was a bit of a downer. I did manage to get a bit more Christmas shopping done, so small mercies and all that!
One of the bonuses of photographing Impressionist paintings is that, every now and again, I get to handle and see up close, some beautiful artworks. One such, just a few days ago, was a quite wonderful Van Gogh still life - a small, jewel-like work of superb brushwork and vibrant colour. It seems quite surreal having in my hands a canvas that the master himself had touched. Amazing!
