Ruins of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament

Wrecked in the 2011 earthquake in Christchurch New Zealand. This once beautiful building is to be demolished. It would cost more than $150million to restore it and the new bishop has decided it would be better to spend $40million on a scaled down cathedral closer to the centre of town. There had been a plan to restore part of the building but this has now been cancelled. There is no date for demolition, and no budget yet.
