Vivian and Molly Found a Snake!

Vivian and the girls went out for a great walk under blue skies, the cold temps and a blustery wind.  We went to our favorite, giant field.  Last night it was cold, the frogs, the lizards, the grasshoppers, even Miss Molly, were cold and shivering.  
      The girls were running ahead of Vivian when she saw a long, greenish-black thing with yellow spots, lying across the path, in the sun.    Moll came back, stepped on the thing and was looking upwards.  Then Abby came running over, and sat on the thing (expecting a treat for sitting...).   
       Then......   the girls jumped! the thing moved, and slowly slithered away into the grasses.   All the while, Vivian was taking iPhone phots of the "thing"
   The thumbnail, is perhaps, the v shaped head, disguised in the grass.  The body is definitely dark with loads of yellow dots.  Apparently, the snake was so cold it wasn't able to move.   After several steps and a couple of sits, the snake slowly moved off.
     Vivian doesn't know what kind of snake it was, but there was no doubt it was cold and lethargic.    The collage shows the snake, molly and Vivian.
