Life In Wales

A Private View

I went out quite early this morning as I'd arranged to go into work at lunch time for a catch up and a chat about my return to work in the new year, and before that I wanted to go back to the Royal Pavilion as they've just changed their policy on photography. Up until a couple of weeks ago, no photography was permitted, but that's all changed and you can now freely take photos as long as flash, tripods and selfie sticks aren't used.

I got there for 11am and it was practically empty! There were two other people in the Banqueting Room, but they had the headset guides on, so I passed them and didn't see anyone else.  It was great as it meant I had every room to myself - perfect for my photos.  I had my cameras with me, but my wide angle isn't wide enough to to capture the whole Saloon which is my favourite room, so I used the panoramic mode on my iPhone.  The guide in that room was very helpful and moved from his seat and stood behind me so I could get a picture without him sat there.  The next room was the ballroom and it was great to be able to get a zoomed in shot of the dragons on the ceiling (which I’ve put in my extras).

I was so luckily to have the place to myself, and it was nice to finally be allowed to take photos.

I called at Tesco's on my way to work to pick up a few things that I forgot yesterday, and I also called at Pets at Home to stock up on the boys' food.

It was good to see everyone at work, and I stayed for an hour.  I feel quite guilty that I'm not back now, as I feel able to, but they told me not to worry, the clinic's closed from next Tuesday until the new year and then I'll be back anyway.

I had a physio appointment at 2.30pm and Judit was very pleased with my progress, she said that she had another patient who'd had the same surgery as me, and said that at 4 weeks post surgery, I'm much further on that he was, and she's also said that I should be fine to drive now.  I did drive today, but it's nice to be told that it's ok.  I still wouldn't drive a distance, only because I don't want to strain my arm, but it's great to have the independence back.
