Going up in the world

A brisk scuttle around the canals of central Birmingham early on, ending up at the station to meet with colleagues to walk to our meeting at the City University on Curzon Street.

Useful meeting, if that is not a contradictory statement. The task ahead remains enormous and growing. The time available short and interrupted by Christmas. Launching the new system will only have one chance of success with users or we’ve lost them.

The 13.50 departed on time (hooray!), arrived on time (hooray) meaning we crossed London to Victoria at a leisurely pace, instead of a frantic dash, to catch the 15.55. Regrettably, this train ran 10 minutes late owing to trespassers on the line. However, all in all a much better and more enjoyable journey.

Two unfortunate casualties of the journey were a couple of items of mail we took to post while away. We brought them both back being unable to locate a post box on our perambulations around Birmingham.

We arrived home just in time to scoff some soup and bread ready to attend the traditional Carols on the (Bearsted) organised by the Bearsted Churches. A very good event, well attended, well sung and well led by the Salvation Army Silver Band.
