We took our students to the University of Central Lancashire today to see the physiological and biomechanical labs.

This is me being put through a maximal test of my aerobic capacity.

I ran at 11.3 km/h and every 2 minutes the gradient was increased, my heart rate was recorded and my blood lactate measured.

I did ok and recorded an aerobic capacity of 4.184 litres. It's a good score for a 49 year old man, it's a pity I'm only 32! (Couldn't resist that very old joke!)

The test told me I'm in better shape than I thought so it's onwards and upwards. I know I can improve this score.
