The decorations

The shops are so beautifully decorated! It redefines window shopping and I loved wandering around, looking at them all.

I got a last minute place on a day trip to Neuschwanstein Castle (the Disney one). A good day out, bright sunshine and some snow on the ground. Needless to say, very cold but a nice little trip through the Bavarian countryside. A nice walk around the little village where you can buy tickets, and nice views over the lake. We walked up to the castle, and enjoyed the views. Definitely a nice castle, but we missed the view of the best side as the viewing bridge was closed. But, probably not as nice as my expectations..

A wander around Christmas markets in the evening, including the medieval market, with appropriate warming liquids! And a ham roll. The hotel left a chocolate Santa on my bed.
