The "Vinga Safir" does a 180 degree turn in Inverness harbour, prior to heading out on the high tide. Pilot boat is behind, on the left.
First time I've seen a ship of this size performing this manouvere. The back end (stern) is held against the quay, whilst the front (bow) is turned around by the "bow thrusters". The Pilot's boat follows behind to bring the Pilot back to the harbour, once safely past the worst of the local hazards.
Nice sunny day. Cold though. Judging by the forecast, I'll skip taking the car this week. At home, the street has plenty black ice that's unlikely to shift for a while.
