Flowering Cabbage Tree .....

..... at the bottom of my garden.

Does it look steep? It is. Too steep for me to mow it, so I keep it under control with a weedeater (line trimmer). You can just about see half of the area in this image.

My daughter & son-in-law helped me clear it all, two years ago, as it had stayed untouched since the earthquakes. I’ve planted it out, and it’s now turning into a NZ native garden and the birds are loving it.

Our minute of silence in remembrance of the survivors and those who are missing, or died, as a result of the Whakaari/White Island eruption last Monday, happened at 2:11pm today. Apparently people all around New Zealand stopped what they were doing - traffic too.
