A nice afternoon filled with Swedish cakes and goodies to celebrate Lucia. Good friends, good food, good chat!

I miss this time of year in Romania. I volunteered for a Swedish/Romanian Foundation. We would bake buns and go carolling to the orphanage and Old People's Home and deliver Blythswood shoeboxes.

I like to keep a bit of that spirit alive by baking similar cakes for my friends. In the spirit of Lucia I asked my friends to bring small donations. This year I was raising money for the local food bank so I'll be off delivering in the next couple of days. As the saying goes - every little helps...
