Birthday Treat
today was Cs birthday. The kids who never know what to get us for Christmas purchased a family ticket for the six of us to visit Quainton Railway Centre with a guest appearance by Father Christmas.
At the appointed hour we boarded a steam train and steamed off into the distance. After a while a huge man with white hair and beard, dressed in a Red Suit appeared bearing gifts for the children - he came into our compartment and sat down with us for a few HO HO HOs and a chat and pictures with Birthday Girl herself.
I took around 150 pictures and it was difficult to make a choice as to which one to post...Zak was so excited to get on the footplate of a steamer with his dad and I and was more excited wearing the hat.
Lots of good shots of birthday girl herself but the extra is the one I like best.
After the ride on the train we all trouped into a small theatre where we watched a children's panto of sorts with lots of Ooos and Ahhhs and cheering and shouting. The kids loved it.
Back to N & R's then for presents, delicious home made spag bowl, and presents. Followed by Happy Birthday and a birthday cake....yummy.
Home by 8pm
Everyone tired after a full day but everyone enjoyed themselves very much.
Happy Birthday Carol !
Cold dry day rain in the evening.
Thank you everyone for looking in today.
