you should write a book...
..and she did!!
Frankie and I met in South West Africa, now Namibia in the mid 70s. An extraordinary country of desert and wild Atlantic coastline, giant sand dunes the highest in the world it is one of the few countries in the world to 'specifically address conservation and protection of natural resources in its constitution'.
As a group of twenty-somethings it was a time of long days in desert camps and great adventure. We shared a number together camping on the cool misty shoreline and tootling north from Windhoek in her ancient red van to follow wildlife on Etosha's salt pan.
There weren't horses at that time though several of us had been teenage horse nuts! and Frankie over the years took hers to another level. Endurance riding!
Not for the feint hearted, horse or rider and this book is her story (and we're talking replaced hips too!) and that of the horses who have shared her endurance journey.
What a champion.
